Francesca Madden is a Chicago-based children, family and lifestyle fine art photographer.

Ever since I was a little girl, I was known as the artist of the family. I started painting when I was four years old and my parents nurtured my love for art with oils, canvases, book, trips to museums and loving appreciation for my creative spirit. As a teenager, I began working in museums, which led me to a degree in art history, a masters in modern and, and a career in the museum world. Although surrounded by art, I craved to use my own creativity.

But motherhood is magical in every way: inspired by my daughters I rediscovered the passion I had found as a four year-old. The only difference is that I traded my brushes and oils for a camera.

I’m inspired by the way my daughter’s hair curls around her face, brushstrokes on a canvas, the colors of the ocean and the wisdom behind a child’s stare. I’m inspired by innocence and simple beauty. I’m inspired by the way the world looks when you are four…
